Chaoran's research examines how AI technologies are impacting multilingual literacy practices and language learning. Her current work focuses on multilingual writers’ interactions with AI, with particular attention to critical AI literacy, voice, learner agency, and the ethical complexities of AI-mediated writing and learning. More broadly, she is interested in how multilinguals navigate evolving relationships among language, technology, and culture, and how educators can support more critical and equitable engagement with AI across linguistic and cultural contexts.
