MIC Related Research

I joined Stony Brook as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Technology, AI and Society in 2025 after receiving my Ph.D. in Information at the University of Michigan. I am a sociotechnical researcher working at the intersection of human-computer interaction, computer-mediated communication, and responsible AI. My interdisciplinary background spans communication, science and technology studies (STS), and data science. My research examines the production, governance, and societal impacts of AI-enabled systems across critical contexts such as work, health, and sustainability, with the goal of advancing theory and informing more equitable design and policy interventions. Centering people whose labor, knowledge, and needs are often overlooked in technology development, I seek to understand and support how they communicate, work, and build lives across cultures and borders through digital platforms and AI systems.
