Fall 2026: The Entrepreneurial Scholar
Wednesday, November 18, 2026 | Charles B. Wang Center
|
This semester will feature Dr. Ilana Horwitz, author of The Entrepreneurial Scholar . Dr. Horwitz is an award-winning sociologist, an assistant professor at Tulane University, and a nationally recognized scholar whose work uncovers how gender, social class, religious upbringing, and institutional support shape educational pathways. Her recent book challenges scholars at all stages—from doctoral students to tenured professors—to break free from conventional academic pathways by adopting an entrepreneurial mindset. Join the conversation to explore how scholars can build greater agency, navigate uncertainty, communicate the value of their work, and shape more resilient academic and professional paths. |
