Our First Main Campus Course Offered Fall 2025!
Feeding the World was a standout experience in Fall 2025, marking Judiann Carmack-Fayyaz's first for-credit, undergraduate course on the main campus. Designed around systems thinking, the class challenged students to grapple with one of the most urgent questions of our time: how to nourish an 8-billion-person planet in ways that are equitable, resilient, and sustainable.
Throughout the semester, students explored global and local food systems, examining everything from international supply chains to nearby municipal food infrastructures. Their papers—thoughtful, well-researched, and deeply engaged—focused on countries around the world as well as communities close to home, demonstrating an impressive ability to connect theory with real-world complexity.
The energy, curiosity, and rigor students brought to the course made Feeding the World a true success. We’re excited by the momentum of this inaugural offering and hopeful to bring the class back to the main campus in Fall 2026.
