Overview

Preservation and restoration work is underway on Stony Brook University’s historic Southampton windmill, an iconic landmark of the Southampton campus. The project is focused on protecting the structure and addressing critical conditions to support its long-term preservation.

Key priorities include improvements to the exterior envelope, addressing water infiltration, and structural stabilization. The restoration approach will protect the windmill’s historic character while addressing these essential structural needs.
