The Facilities Master Plan strengthens the infrastructure and operational systems that support daily campus life at Stony Brook. Investments focus on improving reliability, expanding capacity, and modernizing essential services to support a growing and evolving campus.
The plan includes targeted upgrades and new facilities to support campus operations, enhance safety, and ensure long-term performance of critical systems.
- Development of new service and support facilities across campus
- Expansion and modernization of utilities and operational infrastructure
- Strategic investments in public safety and emergency response facilities
- Enhancements to campus logistics, storage, and service operations

- New Residential Warehouse
- HSC Garage Expansion (650 new spaces)
- New Parking Structures (multiple locations across campus)
- Workforce and P3 Podium Parking
- Dentistry Podium Parking

In addition to new infrastructure, the plan prioritizes upgrades to existing buildings and systems to improve performance, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
- Renovations to core academic and support buildings, including Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering
- Upgrades to major campus facilities such as the Melville Library and Life Sciences complex
- Improvements to building systems, including HVAC and façade enhancements
- Targeted investments to extend the lifespan and functionality of existing infrastructure
