Here’s what’s cooking at SBU Eats this week! 

The Winning Burger Is Here! 

Students voted, and the Lavender Fields Burger took the top spot in the SAC Burger Recipe Contest! This winning creation features a juicy beef patty topped with fig jam, crispy bacon, and creamy goat cheese. Now it’s your turn to try it! Head to the FLAME station at the SAC Food Court all week to taste the burger Seawolves chose as their favorite. 

Action Station: Banana Foster Crepes - September 28

Watch our chefs prepare a classic New Orleans dessert: sliced bananas cooked in a buttery, brown sugar caramel sauce and folded into a delicate crepe. This delicious dessert will be served with dinner at West Side dine-in and with lunch at East Side dine-in. 

Celebrate National Coffee Day - September 29

Give your coffee a flavor upgrade! Head to East Side or West Side dine-in to customize your coffee with flavored pumps and enjoy special National Coffee Day-themed desserts. Try a new flavor, grab something sweet, and celebrate with your friends! 

Smoky Roads BBQ 

Smoke, spice, and serious flavor are on the menu all week!

  • Dinner at West Side dine-in on September 29: Carolina BBQ Smoked Chicken, Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese, and Caramelized Brussels Sprouts.

  • SAC Food Court on September 30 from 12pm to 2pm: Sweet and Spicy General Tso's Smoked Pork Loin served with Pineapple Fried Rice. 

  • Lunch at East Side dine-in on October 1: Apple Brined Chicken Wings, Diced Potatoes, Apple Fennel Slaw, and Buttered Corn on a Roll.

Station Takeover: Little Lime

Little Lime serves bold Latin-inspired favorites with flavorful meats, creamy sauces, fresh vegetables, and vibrant salsas. Lunch at East Side dine-in on September 29 and dinner at West Side dine-in on October 1 will feature Turkey Picadillo with Mexican Rice and Green Bean Slaw.

Enjoy a dinner inspired by Latin American favorites at The Drop in Roth Café on September 30, featuring:

Entrées: Pork Pernil, Peruvian Half Chicken with Spicy Green Sauce

Sides & Specialties: Elote (Mexican Street Corn), Maduros (Sweet Fried Plantains), Yucca with Pickled Onions, Beef Empanadas, Bean and Cheese Pupusas with Cabbage Salad and Red Salsa, Mixed Vegetables.

Oktoberfest - September 30

Enjoy a hearty German-inspired dinner at East Side and West Side dine-in featuring Beef Sauerbraten, Braised Cabbage and crispy Potato Pancakes.

Ms. Peggy B’s Brooklyn Beef Sandwich - October 1

A Brooklyn classic is coming to FLAME at the SAC Food Court beginning at 11 am, where Chefs Morgan and Kenny have created two crave-worthy roast beef sandwiches for Seawolves to enjoy!

The Everything: Classic house-made Roast Beef dipped in Au Jus, with Provolone Cheese, Horseradish Mayo, and 

The Classic: Our classic house-made Roast Beef Sandwich, with American Cheese, Sautéed Onions, and dipped in flavorful Au Jus.

Viral Food Trend Alert: Chopped Cheese

On October 3, SBU Eats is bringing the TikTok viral food sensation “Chopped Cheese” to East Side and West Side dine-in for dinner. Chopped Cheese brings the classic cheesesteak to new heights with flavorful sauces.
