Jing Wang

Jing Wang is an immigrant documentary filmmaker whose name, Jing meaning “quiet” in Chinese, contrasts with the powerful voice she has found through making films. Jing’s creative works focus on social justice and labor issues within the immigrant community. She developed her feature-length documentary Ride with Delivery Workers while organizing the immigrant community to fight for the E-bike legalization campaign. Jing’s films have been showcased at prestigious venues such as The Museum of Moving Images, the Museum of the City of New York, the Rooftop Film Festival, and WNYC’s The Greene Space. Additionally, her work has garnered attention from major publications like The New York Times, Gothamist, World Journal, and China Press. Jing received the Sundance Documentary Fund, Sundance One House Fund, and Sundance Asian Fellowship. Jing is an active member of New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) and the Asian American Documentary Network (A-Doc). Jing holds a Master of Fine Arts in Integrated Media Art from Hunter College. Jing has also taught at several CUNY colleges. She is excited to bring her experience and passion for filmmaking to her role as a faculty member at Stony Brook University.
