Commencement Parking Information

All vehicles on campus must be registered in advance of arrival. To register, you will need your vehicle information, including your license plate number. Once registered, you will receive an email with a parking permit. Please print the permit in color and display it on your vehicle dashboard.

On-campus parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis; however, spaces are limited, and lots may reach capacity. We encourage early arrival and recommend using the Stony Brook parking map to identify alternative parking locations if needed.

Main Commencement – May 22, 2026

On Commencement Day, parking registration is available for Lots 2, 3, 5, 13, and 40. All registrations are first-come, first-served and may reach capacity.

Guests parking in Lot 40 will have access to continuous shuttle service to LaValle Stadium, operating from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. A return shuttle to Lot 40 will be located on Stadium Road, in front of LaValle Stadium. 

ADA Parking

Accessible parking is available in Lot 3 (Stadium Parking Lot) near Gate 6. A government issued ADA placard or plate must be clearly displayed for entry along with the ADA parking registration. Please note that guests without the proper permit will not be allowed to park in this lot. 

Guests parking in Lot 40 will have access to continuous paratransit services to LaValle Stadium, operating from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Departmental Convocations - May 18-21, 2026 

For your convenience, the parking lots listed below are located near each convocation venue; however, if a lot is full you may park in any other designated lot listed on the parking registration. ADA parking is available in these lots for guests with a government issued ADA placard or plate.
