What sparked your interest in your field of study? My interest was sparked when I went to a science camp and there was a segment that day talking about how there weren't many women in STEM and I was confused as to why. I started to learn more about what engineering was and I ended up loving it so I chose Biomedical Engineering because it combined my love for human biology with engineering.
What are you career aspirations? I plan to work for a pharmecuital company that develops medical devices for people in need because my main goal is to improve the quality of life of all patients. I aspire to be quality control engineer testing out if these medical devices are ready to be used by patients.
What advice would you give to incoming freshman who are interested in studying STEM fields at Stony Brook University? I would give them the advice of making as many friends as you can in your classes because you'll never know when you need a friend to explain a certain topic to you for class or help with homework.
