Biography:

In Natalie’s time at Stony Brook, they plan on studying protein signaling in pathogenic bacteria, which effect biofilm formation. In Natalie’s free time, they like to run long distances, play the flute, crochet, and spend time with family and friends. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Natalie participated in the Simons Summer Research Program at Stony Brook University.

"I want to give back to my community by creating accessible, affordable, and sustainable solutions to public health problems."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simons STEM Scholar because I wanted to be with a community that was passionate about STEM and would support each other during our academic journeys." 

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"Take the chance and apply! You have nothing to lose and everything to win. Just try your best and you never know what will happen!"
