Biography:

In Mena’s time at Stony Brook, she plans on studying  the interconnectedness of human anatomy and environmental health. She wants to explore the relationship between ocean ecosystems and terrestrial ecosystems to better understand human health. In Mena’s free time, she likes to dance, go to the gym, and read.

Leading the Future:

"The future of STEM requires you to be a listener before you’re a leader. I plan on listening to my team in order to lead them with responsibility."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simon STEM Scholar because the program gave me a community that valued my thoughts and welcomed my ideas."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"Simon STEM is more than just a program, it becomes a part of who you are in the most meaningful way."
