Biography:

In Kai Lehmann’s time at Stony Brook, they plan on studying the effects of the environment on people’s health and how to create solutions to health disparities created by damaged ecosystems. In Kai Lehmann’s free time they like to learn new things, play jazz drums, debate, and spend time with loved ones. Before becoming a Simon STEM Scholar, Kai participated in an internship in Bonaire in which he studied the difference in underwater noise levels of potentially harmful cruise ships.

Leading the Future:

"I envision myself discovering and addressing emerging pollutants in our urban and natural environments and creating solutions to prevent their damage on peoples health."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simons Stem Scholar because of the programs genuine love for each individual student and their dedication to promoting success within their scholars." 

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"The Simons STEM Scholars program is an amazing opportunity that is hard to come by and should be taken advantage of. You will always feel welcomed and appreciated here."
