Biography:

In Cassandra's time at Stony Brook, she plans on studying fear conditioning, child development, and the underlying basis of psychological disorders. In Cassandra's free time, she likes to read, cook, bake, listen to music, and hang out with her friends.

Leading the Future:

"I envision myself creating greater diversity and helping to bridge the gap in mental health care to make proper care accessible to everyone, especially children. Ultimately I aim to create a space where everyone's voices can be heard and their needs can be met to ensure people can live a happy and healthy life."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to be a Simons STEM Scholar because I value an uplifting and diverse community where differences are welcome and everyone is eager to see each other succeed. In the Simons STEM community there is genuine joy in the success of our peers with no toxic competition. We all want what is best for each other, and with this healthy environment, academic resources, and life preparation, I feel confident that I will succeed."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"My biggest piece of advice is to let your passions be heard. Throughout high school you have done such hard work already in academics, and now is the chance to show why you've done what you've done."
