Biography:

In Ariel's time at Stony Brook, they plan on studying cell signaling mechanisms as well as translational research in medicinal chemistry. In Ariel's free time, they like to paint, draw, go to the gym, life weights, rock climb, and film and edit videos on social media

Leading the Future:

"I envision myself not only as an innovator conducting clinical research while practicing medicine, but also as a mentor teaching other young girls who look like me that they too can be successful in their desired career."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I knew it would be an amazing opportunity to prepare me for my future career in STEM as I would get to learn the expert staff and the brilliant scholars who came before me. Also, I knew I would get to work with the next generation of scientists with those in my cohort which further fueled my inspiration." 

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"Why not? If you’re like me, you’ll apply thinking you have no chance at getting in. But you truly never know. I’m glad I decided to take the chance and it worked out for me, so it could work out for you too."
