Leading the Future:
"I see myself leading the future of STEM by showing young women like me that they
can do it — even if they’ve never seen someone who looks, talks, or acts like them
in those spaces. I want to be part of the change that makes STEM feel like a place
where they belong, not one they have to squeeze themselves into."
Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:
"I chose to become a Simons STEM Scholar because I knew I couldn’t build my future
or find my way alone. I knew needed guidance, support, and a community that would
help me on my journey. The Simons STEM staff has been that for me and with their help,
I’m not as lost as I would’ve been without them."
What would you say to someone who is applying?:
"Do it. It’s honestly the best decision I’ve ever made. Not only did I get a once
in a lifetime pre-college experience, but I also met some of the best people I’ve
ever known. My cohortmates have become a staple in my life, and I truly believe they’ll
be with me throughout the rest of my college experience and beyond."
