Biography:

In Danielle's time at Stony Brook they plan on researching security and privacy, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber-physical systems, natural language processing, and multimodal applications. In Danielle's free time they like to draw, read, and spend time with friends. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Danielle participated in cybersecurity competitions, a hands-on experience where she created a network, and an internship where she created a stop-motion GIF maker.

Leading the Future:

"I hope to inspire other minorities in STEM to conduct research while participating in collaboration across disciplines and solving issues that impact my community. Technology can be used in a multitude of ways and I cannot wait to be at the forefront in discovering them."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simons STEM Scholar because of the support system consisting of both scholars and staff. From the moment I met Dr. Cabrera and Mr. Brick, I could see that they would were passionate about helping Simons STEM Scholars succeed. I knew that I wanted to be in a place where I can be authentic, both academically and socially."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"I would say apply because this program will impact you in more ways than you can imagine and be your inquisitive and passionate self during the selection process."
