Biography:

In Ariane's time at Stony Brook, they plan on studying behavioral and developmental psychology, chemistry, and science communication. In Ariane's free time, they like to dance, play the piano, hang out with friends, do yoga, bike, go on walks, and be creative. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Ariane participated in Midwood High School's Science Research Program working on a data science project to organize DSNY data on trash collection over the last 30 years.

Leading the Future:

"I envision myself leading the future of STEM with compassion and care for all. It is my intention to listen to everyone's voice so they can feel heard and contribute to the positive change for our future."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simons STEM Scholar because I needed to be in an environment that fosters my growth and pushes me towards my goals. Most importantly, I longed to feel heard amongst like-minded individuals."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"I encourage you to reflect on what you want out of the program. "Do I want to be given new opportunities? Do I want to refine my leadership skills?" Setting that intention prior to applying will only set you up for success."
