Biography:

In Anthony's time at Stony Brook, they plan on studying drug delivery, biomaterials, and sustainable engineering. In Anthony's free time, they like to play the piano, watch animations, learn languages, and hang out with friends. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Anthony participated in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, where he wrote a research paper on the mechanics of a yo-yo.

Leading the Future:

"I envision myself making healthcare more sustainable and accessible. In order to build an equitable healthcare system, it is necessary to maximize the efficacy and efficiency while minimizing environmental harm. With chemical engineering and materials science, I want to develop more sustainable and effective drug delivery systems. In this way, I hope to work towards a healthcare system that is more robust and just."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simons STEM Scholar because I want my leadership in STEM and my membership of underrepresented communities to be harmonious. This program has given me a close-knit community of students with diverse backgrounds yet similar aspirations. In addition to the plethora of resources and opportunities, I believe that this community will help me achieve this goal." 

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"If you are truly passionate about advancing STEM and uplifting your community, just apply! The Simons STEM Scholars Program is very rigorous and provides many wonderful opportunities. The application season can be rough; remember to work hard, to seize the opportunities that come your way, and to stay authentic to yourself."

Fall 2024 - - SUNY at Stony Brook under Dr. Endoh on "Behavior of Polymer Thin Films in Supercritical Fluid"
