Hometown: Miller Place, NY

Major: Applied Mathematics and Statistics

Year: Sophomore

High School: Miller Place High School

Biography:

In Analynn's time at Stony Brook they plan to research the intersection between statistics and medicine. I am particularly interested in using statistical methods to improve areas in medicine such as diagnostic times, patient care, and new ways of treatment.  In Analynn's free time they like to practice playing various instruments, sing and make songs, paint their nails, and bake/create recipes. When I have free time I am either creating something, spending time with my friends and family, or relaxing watching a RomCom. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Analynn partcipated in Cancer Cell research and an individual project on the impact of COVID-19 on high school student's health.

Leading the Future:

"Every single person has an opportunity to make something “impossible” turn into something possible with a passion for STEM."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simon’s STEM Scholar to continue my passion and love for math, science, and research with fellow students with the same level of passion to create a unified community all with the same goals."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"If you are thinking about applying to be a Simon’s STEM Scholar, DO IT! The knowledge you will learn from your mentors and peers and the bond created within each cohort is something unique about this program. Each cohort member supports and lifts up one another as we all work hard to our end goals in STEM."
