Biography:

In Aliyah's time at Stony Brook, they plan on researching biochemistry with an interest in the medical field with pain management and anesthesiology. Currently in an anthropology lab studing social behaviors. Working towards finding research that helps deepen my understanding of the roots of Biology and Chemistry. In Aliyah's free time, they like to go to the rec center, spend time with their friends and enjoy the area around Stony Brook, crochet and draw, listen to good R&B music and spend time with their family.

Leading the Future:

"I see by self leading the future of STEM by changing lives through patient care and being able to get the hands on experience to help with the future of medicine."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simon’s stems scholar because the second I walked through the Simon’s office doors I felt right at home and found a place where people have the same urge to make a difference in STEM."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"I would say that it is definitely a program you would want to be a part of because you never feel alone and no question will ever go unanswered because there is always someone there to help you. Having that type of environment makes you unstoppable in all fields."
