Biography:

In Abrar 's time at Stony Brook, she plans on studying the effects of different patterns of protein phosphorylation on breast cancer through analyzing mass phosphoproteomics data. In Abrar 's free time, she likes to paint, take photos, swim and try new things. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Abrar participated in Pioneer's Academics research program with a concentration in computational medicine. This experience solidified her interest in pursuing computational biology.

Leading the Future:

"In the future, I want to be a physician assistant who bridges the gap between patient care and research."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"The support I have seen from the program staff and counselor since the selection weekend made me excited to join the program and be a part of its mission."
