Leana co-teaches MEC 225, bringing her expertise in mechanical engineering to the classroom. She holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in mechanical engineering and is a proud alumna of the WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) program. In addition to her teaching role, she mentors freshmen in WISE courses, supporting their academic and professional growth. Leana also played a key role in the development of The Space, creating an environment that fosters hands-on learning and innovation. Outside of work, she loves to express her creativity through painting and sculpting, adding an artistic touch to her already impressive skill set.

Joseph Schurz

Joseph is the Supervisor of the CEAS Support Shops, where he manages the operations and resources that support hands-on learning for engineering students. He also instructs MEC 225: Fundamentals of Machining Practices, teaching students essential machining skills through practical, real-world experience. Outside of his professional role, Joseph is a car enthusiast and spends his free time building custom Mustang cars, combining his passion for engineering with his love for automotive design.
