Prof. Purwar directs Stony Brook's NSF I-Corps program and co-teaches at SBU's Innovation bootcamp. His company successfully completed the I-Corps Team program; its first-in-the-world design-driven robotics education platform is used in SBU's Manufacturing Extension Partnership robotics summer camp and many schools and colleges. Dr. Anurag Purwar is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University in New York and an award-winning teacher, researcher, TEDx speaker, and inventor of several technologies, some of which are available as products in the market. He has received several best paper and outstanding research awards, excellence in teaching awards, and the top 100 design awards for his inventions. He received the SUNY FACT2 award, two SUNY Research Foundation Technology Accelerator Fund (TAF) awards, A.T. Yang award for Theoretical Kinematics, and Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is an elected member of the ASME Mechanisms and Robotics Committee and a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).

Dr. Kevin M. Moriarty is the Undergraduate Program Director for Technological Systems Management in the Dept. of Technology & Society at Stony Brook University's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He has also held senior management positions with several New York Corporations as a senior executive, VP and General Manager on Long Island throughout his career. He is currently a professor of practice with Stony Brook University's College of Engineering & Applied Sciences, in the Department of Technology & Society where he is now the Undergraduate Program Director and teaches engineering and management courses. He has managed company operations with over $300 million in annual sales and over 350 employees. Working for Companies, such as Festo Corp, Siemens Corp and Thermo-Fisher, considered leaders in industrial automation, and instrumentation industries. Previously, Moriarty held the position as vice president of operations with Thermo Electron, a $4 billion global instrumentation company with leading positions in industrial, and medical/laboratory instruments.

Dr. Scheidt co-teaches SBU's Lean Launchpad course. She wrote the original proposal for SBU’s first incubator, the Long Island High Technology Incubator, founded the Stony Brook Entrepreneurs Challenge for students and inspired the creation of the Long Island Angel Network of early-stage high-risk investors. A recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, she is the immediate past chair of the Business Incubator Association of New York State.

Robert Harrison is a Senior Business Advisor at Stony Brook's SBA-funded Small Business Development Center, which has the largest proportion of technology companies among New York's 23 SBDCs. He is an LLEP-certified instructor — like his colleagues — who came to these programs as he was earning his MBA at Stony Brook after a successful career in small business.
