New Official Campus Store and Course Material Provider

Dear Seawolves,

Exciting changes are happening at Stony Brook University! The Faculty Student Association (FSA) has teamed up with University Gear Shop (UGS) and Books by eCampus as the new official campus store and course materials provider.

The current retail environment and the textbook market have rapidly changed making it necessary for the FSA to look for alternative solutions to serve our campus better. UGS and eCampus stood out as partners that would offer a seamless transition, a better program and expand opportunities for students to save on their overall costs of course materials, apparel and merchandise.

UGS will bring a new modern look and feel to Shop Red West with a remodel that includes an Apple Store, new dressing rooms, and a faculty and local author and art section. Seawolves can look forward to pop-up sales from fashion-forward vendors including Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and Champion. School supplies and medical gear will also be available. A new website is being launched to provide a more robust selection of branded merchandise and apparel. Kiosks will be available for convenient ordering from all Stony Brook campuses and hospital locations.

eCampus will offer affordable options for new, used, rental and ebooks as well as free 2-day shipping to the on-campus store so that students have all of their course materials on or before the first day of classes. Details regarding ordering course materials will be sent to faculty and staff soon and will be available online through 24/7 access on a customized website.

This new partnership will provide scholarships for students and student employment opportunities that offer hands-on work experience, resume-building opportunities and mentorships for professional growth in a business environment.

If you have any questions during this transition period, please contact Bill Napolitano, FSA Director of Business Development at william.napolitano@stonybrook.edu.

Sincerely,

Diana Walker Kubik, PsyD
