SBIR/STTR Assistance for Life Science Companies
The Center for Biotechnology at Stony Brook University, as part of the NYS Designated Downstate SBIR/STTR Hub, is able to offer enhanced levels of support for SBIR/STTR proposal development and implementation for New York State companies working on proposals and/or awards from the National Institutes of Health and the National Sciences Foundation. Support opportunities include:
- Access to short webinars and intensive workshops covering major federal agencies within the SBIR/STTR program
- One-on-one iterative proposal development consulting hours with SBIR experts
- Access to professional grant writing services
- Post award implementation consulting

During the intensive workshops, experts from BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting will provide important information about SBIR/STTR funding and how to craft a competitive SBIR/STTR proposal that meets the unique requirements of each specific agency as well as up-to-date information on the SBIR/STTR programs.

One-on-One Proposal Counseling
For New York State Companies: Through a competitive application process, select participants will receive follow-on counseling via one-on-one proposal mentoring with SBIR/STTR experts. Hourly, iterative proposal development assistance will be offered on an as needed basis. If selected for follow on counseling, participants will be charged $250 participation fee. Additional costs will be covered by the Center for Biotechnology. Applications for non-NIH programming will be accepted on a rolling basis and final deadline to be considered for the next NIH proposal cohort is January 21, 2022, 5pm ET. APPLY ONLINE HERE
Note: Those who will be submitting applications for the One-on-One Training must have prior experience with either a sanctioned SBIR/STTR Intensive Training Workshop or an SBIR/STTR submission and be located in New York State.
