ASCE Stony Brook Chapter Visits The Island International Exterior Fabricators

On Friday, September 8th over 15 student members of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) – Stony Brook University Chapter and Dr. Harold Walker, Professor and Chair of Civil Engineering, visited The Island International Exterior Fabricators, LLC located in Calverton, NY.  After receiving their safety helmets and vests the students went on an extensive shop tour led by Ron VanSteekelenburg, Technical Director and Bobby Albinski, Production Manager.  Following the tour, students had a rare opportunity to meet with several company executives to gain more insight into the company’s operation.  Company representatives included Jeff Robinson, Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Seidman, Design Engineer, Ryan Trama, Production Manager, Andy Schmidt, Senior Structural Engineer, and Courtney McWilliams, Staff Administrator.

The site visit was coordinated by Keisha Drechsler, Director of Human Resources at the Island International Exterior Fabricators and Pasquale Giaquinto, President of ASCE – Stony Brook University Chapter.

The Island Companies produces exterior facades with fabrication and assembly in Calverton, NY with installations all throughout the Northeast.  The Island Companies also have additional offices in Boston, MA, Kingston, RI, and Manhattan.
