ZBeats Inc.

ZBeats Inc. is a digital health company focused on cardiac monitoring and analysis using artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technology. They develop solutions for various areas, including:
- ECG analysis: ZBPro, their platform, uses AI to analyze ECG data from wearable devices and detect arrhythmias and other heart conditions.
- Personalized healthcare: They aim to create personalized healthcare plans by analyzing individual data and providing insights to physicians for better diagnosis and treatment.
- Digital twin technology: They leverage this technology to create virtual models of individual hearts, allowing for simulations and personalized predictions of potential issues.
ZBeats has been awarded a SBIR grant by the National Science Foundation and a STTR grant by the National Institutes of Health to develop prototypes of next generation cardiac monitoring systems and to test and validate their algorithms. ZBeats has established an internship program and hired multiple student interns from Stony Brook University through its partnership with CEWIT. Specifically, student interns joined project teams to conduct real-time remote electrocardiogram (ECG) telehealth monitoring system research. The goal is to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms to analyze and classify templates for abnormal beats after pre-processing and denoising for the ECG data. The tasks include, but are not limited to, literature search for related work (templating methods), algorithm design and implementation, performance evaluation using real clinical data, and technical documentation of developed algorithms. The program also introduced the company to Stony Brook University’s Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC), which supported the company in manufacturing product prototypes and provided supplemental funding for our projects.
