About Us
WELCOME
Throughout February, Stony Brook University hosts Black History Month, an annual tradition
that celebrates the African American/Black experience. This year's programmatic theme,
SANKOFA! Social Activism
is designed to increase awareness about the historical legacy of the African American/Black
experience in the struggle for equality, inclusion, social change, and social justice.
We invite you to participate in the many virtual and in-person educational, social, and cultural programs that will be held, including the Black History Month Closing Program on February 24. You must register to attend this virtual program.
Feel free to visit this website often for up to date program information.
Black History Month is coordinated by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Department of Africana Studies, and the Black History Month Committee. For more information, call us at (631) 632-6700.
