Professor Alexander's research in nuclear science, conducted at accelerator facilities worldwide, included seminal contributions to the dynamic and thermodynamic properties of hot and dense matter produced in energetic heavy ion collisions. He also was a champion and innovator for both graduate and undergraduate education.
