Holiday Service Projects

Adopt-A-Family Program and Toy Drive

FSLThe Stony Brook University Career Center is coordinating service projects by partnering with the Family Service League (FSL) and Options for Community Living. Both organizations identify issues affecting under-served members of society, mobilize resources, and design programs to meet their needs.

Parents who are struggling financially have the opportunity to shop, at no cost, for holiday gifts for their children in the FSL's Holiday Boutique. In an effort to help alleviate the hardships of impoverished community members, Stony Brook community is welcome to support the gift donations that will go to Long Island children who need them the most.

optionsOptions for Community Living's Adopt-a-Family program invites Stony Brook student groups and academic departments to sponsor a family by purchasing items that are greatly needed. Options provides the sponsoring group with the names, ages, and gift wishes for the family.

If you are interested in either of these projects, please contact Taryn Kutujian in the Career Center at (631) 632-6811 or at tkutujia@notes.cc.sunysb.edu. Projects are open to academic departments, faculty members and students! Group or departmental donations are gratefully accepted, and are encouraged.
