There is no special pre-law course of study or major at Stony Brook. Admission to law school depends on the quality of academic work rather than on the field in which it is done. You should enroll in courses at Stony Brook that you enjoy, and that improve reading, critical thinking, communication, writing, and analytical skills. Get Some Advice from a Stony Brook Alum

The Academic & Pre-Professional Advising Center is happy to have a volunteer pre-law advisor join us. We welcome any pre-law students to come and visit during her open hours, Thursdays, 1pm-5pm, beginning November 12 (E2360 Melville Library).

Albina Torre-Guasto, Esq. graduated from Stony Brook University with a BA in Psychology. After spending years working in Politics, Recruiting, Sales and Project Management she decided to go to Law School. She has experience in Criminal and Civil Litigation.

Academic Judiciary Committee Student Members Needed

Academic Judiciary is looking for students to volunteer and serve on our committee as student members. Students need to have completed at least one semester at Stony Brook and be in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 cumulative gpa.
