Information for Faculty

Doctoral Advisors: If you are a faculty advisor to a doctoral candidate, you may wish to discuss with your candidate the possibility of participating in the Doctoral Hooding and Graduation Ceremony. If you and your candidate plan to participate, please note the deadline for ordering academic robes is April 19, 2013. An air freight fee will be charged after this date to assure arrival. Letters will be sent inviting faculty advisors to participate as their candidates show an intent to participate.

All Faculty are invited to attend the Main Commencement Ceremony schedule to take place on Friday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. Lineup will take place at 10:30 a.m. behind POST #1 in the small parking lot adjacent to the Sports Complex.

FACULTY CAP & GOWN RENTALS for Departments Reporting to the Provost:

The Provost will pay the cost for the rental of academic attire for all faculty in departments reporting to the Provost’s Office who plan to attend the May Commencement Ceremony.

• The electronic form is extremely user friendly and takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
• The website will not accept orders after April 19. Requests for faculty orders after this date must be submitted by returning the Faculty Order Form to the bookstore.

Delivery & Returns

• The cap and gown will be available for pick up at the Bookstore starting May 18, 2013. The Bookstore will not call to let you know that they are in and will not deliver academic attire.
• All rentals should be returned to the Bookstore promptly after the commencement ceremonies, the bookstore will be open until 5pm.
