Presidential Mini-Grants for Departmental Diversity Initiative
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I believe that encouraging diversity in the learning experience is a key component that contributes significantly to the quality of life on campus and inspires us to even greater accomplishments. Therefore, I invite you to take part in this year’s Presidential Mini-Grants for Departmental Diversity Initiative by reading the guidelines and participating in the application process.
The Presidential Mini-Grants for Departmental Diversity Initiative is designed to foster new projects, to test out ideas and to determine what may be the seeds of growth for the University. This long-standing program supports selected proposals that promote awareness, skills, and knowledge about issues related to race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, abilities, age and/or religion. Preference will be given to proposals that are tied to the goals of the Stony Brook Plan for Equity, Inclusion and Diversity.
Drawing on a total pool of $30,000, the award amount granted will be determined by the number of grants selected and approved for funding. Each Mini-Grant recipient will be recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner.
Application deadline is Friday, February 24, 2017.
Thank you for taking the time to give this important initiative serious consideration.
