Stony Brook University offers students the opportunity to visit and study in Alcalá, the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes.   This four week, total immersion program is hosted by one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in Europe, the University of Alcalá, founded in 1499 by Cardinal Cisneros.   The university offers a college town atmosphere conveniently located near Madrid.
 
Application are due April 15, 2013.
Late applications will be considered at the Program Director’s discretion.
 
Program Highlights:
Located 20 miles East of Madrid
(commuter train every 10 minutes)
Group excursions to Madrid, Toledo, Segovia
Visits to the museums of El Prado, Reina Sofía, Thyssen Borgamiza
 
Living arrangements
Home stays with Spanish families in Alcalá de Henares.
 
Eligibility
All undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing may apply.
