Local Purchasing Program Sustainable PracticesCultural Awareness and Education

Capitalizing on the ingenuity and high standards of several Long Island and New York State growers and manufacturers is the thrust of Campus Dining's local purchasing program. Depending on seasonality, Campus Dining purchases large quantities of produce from growers within 150 miles of campus. Menus are filled with fruits and vegetables grown in towns like Mattituck, Southhold, Riverhead and Wading River. These products are not only fresher and more flavorful, but do not have to travel thousands of miles to reach your plate.
