Major Housing Developments and Renovations at Stony Brook
Tabler Building Project
The Tabler Building Project has an expected completion date of Fall 2027. The new building will accommodate a total of 310 beds, primarily designed for double occupancy, with designated single rooms for residential assistants (RAs). Additionally, the project will feature three-bedroom suites that include in-unit cooking facilities. All ADA designated bedrooms will meet and exceed the ADA requirements, ensuring enhanced accessibility for all residents, and includes air-conditioning for the warmer months.

Chapin Apartments Renovations
The multi-year renovations of Chapin Apartments include the completion of five buildings, with one currently underway, and plans to renovate seven more buildings in the future.
This investment will include both interior and exterior upgrades such as:
- Increased number of climate-controlled housing units for year-round comfort.
- Enhanced accessibility with additional ADA compliant rooms.
- Flooring, siding and window updates.
- Upgraded kitchen appliances.
- Replacement of the exterior staircase.
- Upgraded network for improved WiFi connectivity.
- Implementation of measures to improve indoor air quality throughout the buildings.

West Apartments Renovations
This renovation project will include facade work and HVAC improvements. These upgrades will also result in improved indoor air quality.
The West A, B, C and D apartment building renovations have been completed and building
West I is currently in progress. It has been determined that buildings J and K are
currently not in need of renovations at this time. And at a later date, the renovation
will include buildings E, F, G and H.

Seawolves Village
Seawolves Village exemplifies a forward-thinking approach and dedication to enhancing campus life. The village will feature state-of-the-art prefabricated housing units and will provide housing for 500 students, meeting their housing needs with high quality, modern accommodations that adhere to current energy efficiency standards.
Set to be available approximatley by November 2025, Seawolves Village will be located
near the H Community, ensuring that residents remain connected to the vibrant Stony
Brook University campus.
