October 14, 2026

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

It is Homecoming Week and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate what makes our Seawolf community so special: coming together, showing our Seawolf pride and cheering on our team! This week is packed with events that bring out our school spirit, build connections, and remind us how much fun it is to be a Seawolf! To view the full schedule of events, check out the Homecoming for Students page.

  • Today, Wednesday, October 14 at 12:30pm on the SAC Plaza, welcome the 2026 Homecoming Court at Homecoming Hypefest and enjoy giveaways and treats.
  • On Thursday, October 15 at 4pm on East Side Dining Patio, join us for Home Sweet Homecoming featuring music, crafts, giveaways and delicious snacks.
  • On Friday, October 16, get ready for an evening full of Seawolf Pride! Kick things off at CPO’s SoberFest: Homecoming Tailgate Party starting at 4pm at the Union patio, then head to 16th Annual Seawolves Showcase at 6:30pm at the Stony Brook Arena to experience incredible Seawolf talent.
  • The celebration continues Saturday, October 17! Tailgate with your friends, cheer for the Seawolves at the Homecoming football game at 2:30pm in LaValle Stadium (undergraduate students get in for free!). Don’t forget to wear RED and bring in the noise!

Don’t Miss Out! Homecoming Game Giveaways

As an added bonus, there will be several exclusive prizes and giveaways happening at the football game that you do not want to miss. You must be in attendance to be eligible to win:

Stay Safe and Take Care of Each Other

Homecoming is a time when our pride, spirit, and sense of community are at their best. As we celebrate, let’s remember to stay safe and look out for one another:

  • Celebrate responsibly and know your limits. Homecoming is about school spirit and connecting with friends, not overindulging in alcohol. Drinking too much, too fast can turn a great day into a dangerous one. Remember that the minimum legal drinking age in the United States is 21.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings and make safe choices. Whether you’re at a tailgate, a game, or an event, be mindful of where you are and who you’re with. Trust your instincts if something doesn’t feel right. If you feel unsafe, call University Police at (631) 632-3333.
  • Look out for your friends and step in if someone needs help. Small actions such as checking in, making sure no one is left alone, or calling for support are important steps to ensure everyone is safe.
  • Don’t hesitate to seek assistance if a situation becomes unsafe. If someone shows signs of alcohol poisoning — difficulty staying awake, vomiting, slow or irregular breathing, or being unresponsive — call University Police at (631) 632-3333 for help immediately.
  • Know about the Good Samaritan Policy. Stony Brook has a Good Samaritan Policy. If you or someone else is in an alcohol or drug-related emergency, students who act in good faith and call for help may not face University sanctions for violations of alcohol/drug policies.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Let’s make this Homecoming one to remember. Go Seawolves!

Sincerely,
