The Stony Brook $1,000 Short Fiction Prize


Now in its 29th year!

The 2019 Stony Brook $1,000 Short Fiction Prize has been awarded to  Teja Dusanapudi of the University of California, Davis, for his submission, "This Is Where the Dead Things Dance."

Runners-Up: Emily O ' Mally of Rollins College for  "Cranes" and Lydia Trigili of Haverford College for "Earning a Living"

Semi-Finalists: Laura Bristol (University of Buffalo) for "The Children Are Playing War"; Mary Kearney-Brown (Haverford College) for "Paradise Apartments"; Owen Duncan (Concordia University, Irvine) for "Julie E. Baker - Application Form for Zycanine®"
