Resolution to Permanently Protect Expanded Boundaries of the Ashley Schiff Preserve.

WHEREAS, on May 6, 2024 this Council resolved that, based on the history of an area of the Stony Brook campus known informally as the Ashley Schiff Preserve, a 19.09 acre area designated by an attached survey map would be forever known as the Ashley Schiff Nature Preserve and would continue to be maintained as a preserve; and

WHEREAS, the Council now seeks to amend and expand the metes and bounds description of the area previously dedicated by it as the Ashely Schiff Nature Preserve to more accurately reflect the historical boundaries thereof;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE STONY BROOK COUNCIL, THAT:

Their resolution of May 6, 2024 is hereby superseded by this resolution that the 25.6088 acre area designated on the attached survey map and the metes and bounds description will forever be known as the Ashley Schiff Nature Preserve and will continue to be maintained as a preserve.

The Stony Brook Council authorizes Chair Kevin S. Law to transmit this resolution to the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York.
