Federal Student Loan Repayment Estimator
Enter your federal student loans to estimate payments under the current Tiered Standard and Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP) rules. Add each loan separately if your loans have different balances or interest rates.
Enter loans for one borrower only. A Parent PLUS Loan is legally owed by the parent borrower,
not the student, and should not be combined with the student's own loans unless the
same person is the borrower on all loans entered.
Step 1: Enter Your Federal Loans
Use the current outstanding principal balance and interest rate for each loan. You can review your federal loan information at StudentAid.gov.
Step 2: Income Information for RAP
If married filing jointly, enter the combined AGI used on the joint federal tax return.
Otherwise, enter the borrower's AGI.
RAP reduces the monthly payment by $50 for each qualifying dependent.
This estimator uses the entered balances to approximate the federal spouse-loan proration
rule.
Step 3: Optional Extra Monthly Payment
This is used only for the payoff illustration under the Tiered Standard estimate.
It is not part of your required federal payment.
