SBU ASME Chapter Earns 4th Place at ASME EFx Student Design Competition
The Stony Brook Student Chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, (ASME), showcased engineering innovation and teamwork at the ASME EFx Student Design Competition at the University of Central Florida (UCF), earning a 4th place overall finish among
teams from across the country.
The annual competition brings together engineering students for a weekend of design, innovation, and hands-on problem solving. Participants are challenged to design, build, and operate prototypes that address a predetermined engineering problem while demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and effective teamwork.
The Stony Brook team competed in the ASME e-Human Powered Vehicle Challenge (e-HPVC), an engineering design competition focused on the development, fabrication, and racing
of human-powered vehicles. The challenge provides students with an opportunity to
apply engineering principles in a real-world design environment while collaborating,
testing, and refining their prototypes.
