Postage Increase

As of July 10, 2022, the US Postal Service has implemented a rate increase which will impact market dominant products and competitive prices. Specifically, this includes mail and shipping services, as well as nonprofit automation/non-automation mail.

Price increases for First Class Nonprofit, Media Mail, Library, and Special Services are also now in effect. For more information on these new postal rates and a thorough breakdown of the classes impacted, please view the current Price List.

Holiday Schedule

To All Faculty and Staff:

Mail Services will operate on the following schedule for the upcoming holiday period:

Monday December 24 and Tuesday December 25 2018:
Mail Services will be closed

Wednesday December 26 through Friday December 28:
Normal business hours - 7:00am - 4:30pm

Mail Services will provide pick-up and delivery of mail each of these days to all East and West Campus departments. We realize many departments will choose to operate with reduced staff and limited hours during this period. If a department will be closed any of these days, please notify Mail Services at 631-632-6231 or e-mail our Mail Services Manager, Louise Melious at: Louise.Melious@stonybrook.edu.

Monday December 31 and Tuesday January 1 2019:
Mail Services will be closed

Normal Mail Service operations will resume again on Wednesday January 2, 2019.

Prices for Postal Services with the USPS have changed. These adjustments will include, but not be limited to First-Class Mail, Package Services, Extra Services, and International Mail. Reduced Delivery Schedule

Due to the Administration Staff Reduction Plan, Mail Services will be reducing delivery service to several areas.

Effective Monday, October 2, 2017 the following mail delivery schedule will be in effect.

Stony Brook Southampton - reduced to 3 times weekly. Includes all satellite areas of Hampton Bays, Montauk, Westhampton and now Southampton Hospital.

Long Island State Veteran's Home - reduced to 3 times weekly.
