Ever since I was a youngster I have always wanted to build something and have a final product to show to everyone. By high school I realized that the field of study which allowed me to do this involved taking science courses such as physics and chemistry. I wasn't necessarily building things but I was learning components that would aid me later in my career. I guess the thing I like most about science is that there is always something new to learn. My career, although not determined exactly at this time, will have something to do with science because I am guaranteed to always have something new to learn.I have had some great teachers throughout my education. The one that holds a special place is my 8th grade physics teacher, Mr. Christman. Not only did he teach us the laws and properties of physics he also taught us life lessons. This way of educating influenced me dramatically. I excelled in all of my following science classes which included Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The one profession which seems to be my calling is that of an Engineering Professional. This position would allow me to participate in both the hands-on and business aspects of Engineering. I want to complete my Bachelors/Masters degree here at Stony Brook and then complete my MBA at an accredited Business School. I think with these qualifications I have a range of possibilities and options.
I studied all areas of science in high school with a focus in Biology and Physics and a strong background in Math. I think with a broad background in science one is able to apply that knowlegde to almost every situation. My physics classes have always been a challenge, yet I have always welcomed it with open arms. These classes probably have the most relevance to my future career.
My hobbies include skiing, rock climbing and reading. I think skiing and rock climbing have the most to do with science. I am very involved in my building's LEG. This is the building government. I help plan events and boost community spirit. This is rewarding to me because it allows me to meet people in my building and gives them something to do other than sticking their noses in a book.
