Today, we were missing a few girls, two from Riverhead, and one from Mount Sinai. First, we worked on reflecting light from the sun onto the building by using mirrors. While waiting for Dr. Noe to prepare, we found it amusing to reflect the light from the sun onto people who were walking into the building. After we were outside, we came into the physics building where we began to review what we had accomplished last time we met. We talked about the geometry of optics. We met two new people, Melissa, who just received a Marshall scholarship to Oxford, and Joey, who had just entered grad school. Joey brought us into the lab where she demonstrated precision frequency. Then, Dr. Noe went and got liquid nitrogen. He demonstrated that light travels in a straight line. We talked alot about diffraction, and we looked through pinholes to see this diffraction. - The Comsewogue Trio
