Today we had to figure out the distance from our eye to the object on the wall (the sign). Then we learned how the laser was absorbed by the milky water. We learned how to convert cm to inches and vice versa. We learned that light travels in vertical angles. We learned that measurements came out better when the object was on the line instead of our eyes. We used fiber optics to see how the light traveled through the fiber. We used the mirrors and the lasers on the table and lined them up to an exact point on the wall. We lined them up through the pin-holes on the table. We learned that liquid nitrogen is 77K and it boils and evaporates at room temperature. We used the liquid nitrogen to better see the lasers. The liquid nitrogen when mixed with water left behind cold ice in the bottom of the metal container. We used calculations, ratios and proportions to find the distance that we needed to stand for the object to cover the sign. We learned why blood is red and why it changes colors as you go deeper in the ocean. We learned that you can tell if a person is alive if you shine a stong lazer through their ears or nose. Monitors are used on your ears to observe your oxygen level. By: Dajon Strange + Shatina Jayne W.I.S.E.
