Previously I had plotted out a graph based on a picture that I took of the trajectory of a laser passing through the media. This time I took the photograph and I expanded the size and then took data. I received a nicer plot which looks more like a catenary. Now my plans are to use the LINUX program GNUPLOT and use this to help me make a best fit curve and come up with a formula. On Wednesday, the LTC group attended a conference and the guest speaker was a former researcher here, Tina Shih. It was interesting to hear about all the places and programs that she has participated in when doing Physics research. I hope that eventually I will be able to go abroad and do studies in other laboratories. It will be an interesting experience.
