Biography

I am going to be a senior at Herricks High School in the school year 2002-2003. My academic interests are in physics, astronomy, and mathematics. Last year, I wrote a neural network program in C. It was designed to show how artificial neural networks could be useful in cryptology. The results showed that in under 3 minutes, it was possible to learn an XOR, single-character key system. (This was done on a 300 MHz processor.)

I plan to pursue my study of physics this summer in optics as a part of the Simons Fellowship program. In 8th grade, I did a science project on cryptography, and in 10th grade, I did a project on the diffraction of beta particles. These were entered into several science fairs, and from 7th grade to 11th grade, I have entered the Long Island Math Fair.
