You can complete your 2020/2021 FAFSA beginning October 1, 2019 using your 2018 tax information. The Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) will be available to use again. The DRT will pull your IRS information directly into the FAFSA. Using the tool is optional, but helps to eliminate manual entry errors. Using the tool will also help in the event that the student is chosen for verification; the DRT provided information has already been verified, so there is no need to submit tax transcripts.
