BizLibrary served as Stony Brook University’s e-learning platform to support employee personal and professional development. The platform provided on-demand access to a broad range of training modules, allowing employees to explore topics of interest while managers could recommend courses to enhance skill growth.
Between its implementation and December 2024, the Training & Organizational Development team had enrolled 2,300 users, with learners completing over 7,900 courses. The most utilized and impactful topics included empathy, customer service, motivation and resilience, interpersonal relationships, and leadership skills. A soft launch with Central HR in November 2023 engaged 70 learners, achieving a 57% participation rate and 100% satisfaction with usability and course offerings.
BizLibrary content had been prepared for integration into Wolfie One, with a goal to expand access to 5,000 users, including all non-faculty staff at West Campus and the Health Sciences Center. While BizLibrary provided a strong foundation for learning, the platform ultimately did not align fully with SBU’s future-state learning goals, prompting the transition to LinkedIn Learning for broader, more strategic workforce development opportunities.
